I am writing to recommend an excellent teacher, Ann Arnold, to anyone who might need a teacher or tutor for their child.

During the 1997-98 school year, my son, Daniel, age 17, was being home schooled due to extensive problems in school brought about by ADD and other troubles. Daniel has hated school, and anything that felt like school, for a long time, and expects to fail when placed in any academic environment. I was amazed that he enjoyed going to Ann’s house for his once weekly tutoring sessions.

Not only did he enjoy it, but he actually was able to comprehend and learn the material in the two classes she was teaching him: Algebra II and Chemistry.

Ann was able to teach Daniel how to organize his study material and his thoughts so that he knew exactly what he needed to do when he got home and exactly what was expected of him in the next session.

I was also impressed that Ann knew her subject material so well that she could sort through a huge book on chemistry and pick out the important concepts that Daniel needed to learn. This ability to present Daniel with the important points and not overwhelm him with extraneous detail was an important part of why he did so well with her.

In conclusion, Ann Arnold related very well to my son and provided him with an excellent educational experience, which I am especially grateful for since Daniel has had so many bad experiences.
